Teen Survival Skills is a 12-week, group therapy program designed to help adolescents, ages 13 to 17, who struggle with a coexisting mental health issue such as depression, anxiety and anger and a substance abuse problem. This therapeutic group program offers both mental health and substance abuse treatment and includes random drug testing. Each client will receive a comprehensive clinical assessment and an individualized treatment plan prior to the start of the program.
Teen Survival Skills covers topics such as:
- Learning impulse control
- Regulating emotions
- Becoming abstinent and maintaining
- Abstinence from drugs and alcohol
- Controlling anger
- Addressing faulty thought processes
- Coping with depression
- Developing stress management skills
Adolescents must meet certain clinical criteria to be entered into this group therapy program determined through a clinical assessment.
